| Job Description: | Marketing and Communication Services at the Warrington College of Business invites applications for a student assistant who will provide specialized assistance to our team of web and communication specialists. Primary responsibilities include formatting documents for readability and accessibility working with faculty and staff to inform and guide document creation for ADA compliance and other ADA web quality control. This position offers a unique opportunity for a tech-savvy student to contribute to the college website. Applicants should be proficient in Microsoft Office tools including PowerPoint Word and Excel. We are seeking a student available to start in March 2026 for a position open through June 2026. 1. Accessibility Support: - Collaborate with faculty and staff to address accessibility barriers in web materials documents and digital content. - Assist in the creation and remediation of accessible documents including PowerPoint Word Excel and PDF files. - Conduct accessibility assessments and recommend improvements for digital resources. 2. Accessibility Guidance: - Guide faculty and staff as they create ADA compliant content for personal sites directory profiles and other materials owned and published by individuals. - Provide materials and knowledge through workshops phone calls and one on one training sessions. 3. Administrative Tasks: - Review and format additional site materials as needed. - Other duties as assigned. This is a part-time position with flexible hours to accommodate the students class schedule. Ideally this student assistant would have 12-20 hours of availability each week depending on the needs of the Marketing and Communication Services team. These hours would be worked on campus at Bryan Hall. |
| Expected Salary: | $15.00/hour |
| Required Qualifications: | - Current enrollment as a student at the University of Florida. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications particularly PowerPoint Word and Excel. - Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Accessibility Assistant feature and implementing associated recommendations. - Familiarity with Adobe PDFs used on websites. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. - Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. - Ability to understand timelines and organize your work accordingly. |
| Preferred: | - Previous experience in accessibility or technology support. |
