Position Director of Financeserves as a strategic leaderin the organizations stewardship offinancial resources. They serve on Jubilees Executive Team and oversee the full spectrum of financeand accountingfunctionsincludingbudgetingMedicaid billingpledge and grantaccountingcash andinvestments managementpayrollaccounts payable financial reportingand custodial bookkeeping for Director of Finance champions initiatives that fosterefficient andthoughtful accountabilityforthe organizations resources.
Responsibilities.
Leadership and whichcurrentlyincludesaSenior AccountantSenior Accounting Managerthree Bookkeepersandapart-timeExecutiveAssistant. Lead in developing implementing and evaluating strategic goals related tobudgeting andfinancial on theExecutive Team and contribute to organizational strategy and with the Executive Team to conduct cost analyses of potential new services or projects as wellas ofexisting services.
Jubilees annual budgetingprocess including providingguidance andmaterialsfor departmental budget preparationpreparing the organizational budget in consultation withthe Board and executive leadership and activelymonitoringbudget performance.
allorganizationalaccounting includingmaintainingthegeneralledgerandensuring proper classification and recording ofexpenses revenueandassets.
Accounts Receivable. Oversee allaccountsreceivable functions includingtimelyandaccuratebilling of state and county revenue sourcesrecordingand classifying revenuereconcilingbillingand outstanding receivables and addressing state billing exceptions.
Accounts functions includingtimelyandaccuratepayments maintenance of vendor filesallocationand classification decisions and posting of accounts payable to the general ledger.
Asset andmonitorall bankand investmentaccountsmonitorcash flow and make recommendations to the Executive Directorregardingmaximizing investment fixed assets and depreciation schedules and reconcile them to the general ledger.
-weekly payroll processing including timesheet and leave approvals proper withholding and benefits accrualsdirect deposits posting togeneralledgerpayroll tax reports and payments coordination with the Human Resources Department and reporting to relevant Executive Team members.
and ensuretimelymonthly closes andproduction of financial report package for theExecutiveTeamandBoard of Directors includingbank reconciliationsstatement of activities statement of positionliquidity reportdepartmental reports andprofitability reports byservice recommendations to the Executive Director concerning accounting issues cash flow issues and other matters whichimpact onthe financial viability of theorganization.
Annual Financial Statement and Fiscal Year closings and coordinate the annual financial statement audit withJubilees contracted financial auditors recommendations.
Tax ofallfederal andstatetax forms andproperty tax thetimelyfiling of quarterly 941payrolltax returns as well as the MDUnemploymentInsurancetax with the auditor to ensuretimelyandaccurateForm 990 and related annual filings.
Board of with the Executive Director and COO support the activities of the Board Finance Committee and provide materials reports and presentations on budgets accounting and financial audits to the Finance Committee and full Board of Directors.
State and payments and payment formulas for all State and County completion ofAnnual Cost Report budgetmodifications attendance reportsand all other reporting activitiesrequired by theMarylandDevelopmental Disabilities Administrationand Montgomery County.
custodial bookkeeping for client funds includingbudgeting supportSocial Security Representative Payee servicesbenefitsand incomereceipt bill paymentassessment of fees when applicablecash disbursement recordkeepingmonthly reporting to clients and familiesand balance monitoring to ensure compliance with state and federalgovernmentassistanceeligibility requirements.
with the Director of Communications and Development to ensuremonthly reconciliation of donation revenue between the accounting and development databases. Provide income and expense data as needed to support grant applications and reportingannual and capital campaign reporting and donor-designatedfunds.

Qualifications.
Bachelors degree in accounting financeorrelated preferred.
8 years offinanceexperiencerequired preferably in non-profitorganizations.
Supervisory experiencerequired.
Advanced reasoning abilities and good judgment.
Advanced written and verbal communication and interpersonal -firstlanguage and thinking are essential.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to effectively manage documents priority and project lists.
Strong technology skills in effectively using Outlook Word Excel andfinancial and project management systems and applications.
Ability to handle sensitive situations discreetly and tactfully safeguarding personal information.
True passion for the mission of the organization; desire to work with and learn from people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.
position has a fixed starting salary of $120000 per year.
