Education Qualification: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field or higher with minimum 3 years of relevant experience.

Position Description: We are looking for a Senior JIRA Administrator (Technical) to architect administer and scale our Atlassian Jira platform. This role requires deep technical expertise in Jira configuration automation integrations and performance optimization supporting multiple Agile teams across engineering QE product and operations.
You will act as the technical owner of Jira responsible for stability customization automation and extensibility of the platform.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Jira Platform Architecture & Administration

. Administer and architect Jira Software Jira Service Management (JSM) and Jira Work Management
. Design and maintain advanced configurations: Complex workflows with conditions validators and post-functions Custom issue types field contexts schemes and screen mappings Permission schemes and role-based access control (RBAC)
. Manage Jira at scale (hundreds to thousands of users)
. Perform system upgrades patching and performance tuning
. Support Jira Cloud and/or Data Center environments


Automation Scripting & Extensibility

. Design and maintain advanced Jira Automation rules
. Develop and support scripting solutions using: ScriptRunner (Groovy) Jira REST APIs Webhooks and event-based integrations
. Build custom automation for: Workflow transitions SLA calculations Cross-project synchronization Bulk operations and governance enforcement


Integrations & DevOps Toolchain

. Integrate Jira with: Confluence Bitbucket GitHub GitLab CI/CD tools (Jenkins Azure DevOps GitHub Actions) Slack MS Teams ServiceNow or other ITSM platforms
. Maintain traceability across code builds deployments and issues
. Support DevOps and QE pipelines through Jira integrations


Agile & QE Enablement

. Implement Jira configurations for: Scrum Kanban and hybrid models Scaled Agile frameworks (SAFe LeSS)
. Support QE/QA workflows: Test management tools (Xray Zephyr TestRail integrations) Defect lifecycle optimization Release and test execution tracking
. Enable flow metrics: cycle time lead time throughput WIP


Reporting Metrics & Data

. Design and maintain advanced dashboards using: Native Jira reporting Marketplace apps (eazyBI Structure Rich Filters)
. Create custom KPIs for: Engineering productivity Quality trends Release health SLA and support metrics
. Ensure data integrity across projects and reports


Governance Security & Compliance

. Define and enforce Jira governance standards
. Manage global configurations with minimal impact
. Implement audit logging access reviews and compliance controls
. Support regulated environments (SOC2 ISO HIPAA etc.)


Leadership & Enablement

. Act as escalation point for complex Jira issues
. Mentor junior Jira administrators and power users
. Develop and maintain technical documentation
. Lead Jira platform roadmap and continuous improvement initiatives

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

. 7 years of Jira Administration experience
. Deep expertise in: Jira Software & Jira Service Management Workflow engineering and permission modeling
. Strong experience with: Jira Automation ScriptRunner (Groovy) REST APIs and webhooks
. Experience integrating Jira with CI/CD and DevOps tools
. Solid understanding of Agile DevOps and QE practices
. Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills
