Job Details:
Purpose
To support the Assessment Office with Core Curriculum assessment.
Gather and score samples of student work from selected Core Curriculum courses to determinethe extent to which student work demonstrates the UT Student Competencies.
Responsibilities
- Learn the content and application of the assessment rubric for the appropriate Core Curriculum component area through training provided by the Assessment Office
- Read assignment prompts and samples of student work to assess the extent to which students demonstrate competencies listed in the rubric
- Document assigned score for each sample of student work
- Contribute to written summaries and reports
- Redact student information from artifacts
- Work in a collaborative team environment; will work closely with at least one other rater at all times

- Skills in gathering and analyzing facts to devise solutions to problems
- Skills in using personal computers Canvas BOX and Microsoft Office applications (specifically Microsoft Word Excel).

- Ability to communicate in oral and written formats
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability
- Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines
Required Qualifications
- Current graduate student in good academic standing.
- Applicants must meet the Graduate Schools Conditions for Student Employment: Qualifications
- Not required but a small number of fluent Spanish-speakers are desired to review and score student work from Spanish courses.
Salary Range
$20 per hour depending on qualifications
Working Conditions
- May or June start. Position ends on July 31 2026.
- Initial training days will be held in-person on campus.
- Following training raters will work remotely with some on campus meetings.
- Shifts are scheduled during standard business hours Monday-Friday from 9am - 5pm.
- Exposure to standard office conditions use of manual dexterity repetitive use of keyboard at workstation and working in a shared office space
