BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: This is protective services work in directing the activities of lifeguards responsible for enforcing beach rules and regulations and protecting the safety of visitors to state swimming areas. Work includes arranging work schedules and instructing and training lifeguards. Work is performed under general supervision and in accordance with park rules and regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: At least seventeen (17) years of age and have successfully completed the Lifeguard Competency Test within the last year.
LICENSING/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (These must be met by all employees prior to attaining permanent status in this class): Possession of current/valid Lifeguard Certification; current/valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification; current/valid First Aid Certification; and completion of Lifeguard Academy.
