Job Description
Join the award-winning Omni Homestead Resort & Spa as a Wine Tasting Host for the Virginia Wine Experience a premier destination celebrating the best of Virginias vineyards. Were seeking a passionate engaging individual to lead wine tastings private group sessions and educational experiences that highlight the rich heritage and flavors of Virginia wine.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily wine tastings and private group sessions with enthusiasm and expertise
- Educate guests on Virginia wine regions varietals and tasting techniques
- Create a warm welcoming and informative environment for all guests
- Familiarize yourself with daily happenings and inventory.
- Work amoungst team and individually when neccessary.
- Receives all checks from the guest and processes them to the proper payment method.
- Fully perform open and closing duties.
- Post all checks into the computer using the correct check number for reference as well as check control purposes.
- Excute POS system.
- Balance work with computer.
- Assists in answering phones for The Virginia Wine Experience as needed.
- Serve wine and execute wine flights.
- Provides amazing customer service from the moment the guest enters The Virgina Wine Expereince.
- And any other reasonable duty assigned by management or supervisor
Qualifications
- Prior wine knowledge or sommelier training preferred but not required
- Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead engaging group experiences with confidence and charm
- Passion for hospitality storytelling and Virginias wine culture
- Must be 21 and able to work evenings weekends and holidays as needed
- Must be able and willing to stand for 8-10 hours each shift.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
- Must have an outgoing and positive disposition.
- Knowledge of appropriate verbiage for fine dining setting(preferred)
- Previous customer service experince.
