Shady Oak Beach is open June 6th August 16th. We are seeking team-orientated ambitious energetic and experienced individuals with strong leadership and customer service skills. Duties/Responsibilities

Job Overview:
The Shady Oak Beach Shift Lead helps to manage the daily operations of the Shady Oak Beach front gate and concession stand which includes overseeing both the concession and gate staff. The Shift Lead will need to effectively multitask in a fast paced environment and be self-motivated. Leads must be effective problem solvers with the ability to anticipate and prevent potential issues. Ideal Leads possess strong leadership qualities and the ability to work with diverse personalities and work styles.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs various activities including but not limited to opening and closing the concessions stand and the front gate
  • Understands follows and enforces all beach facility rules. Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive public image by immediately addressing questions and concerns from staff patrons participants and parents. Contact and ask for assistance from the facility supervisor or manager when necessary
  • Ensures appropriate cash management and following food safety guidelines set by our states health regulations
  • Maintains surveillance of the front entrance; enforcing facility rules safety policies and guidelines
  • Oversees cleaning schedule to ensure a clean and hazard-free environment; perform various custodial duties such as sweeping picking up trash and sanitizing
  • Possesses general knowledge of beach operations and emergency action procedures; assisting head lifeguards in emergency response situations as needed with the ability to remain calm
  • Communicates effectively and concisely with the patrons and staff; with the proficiency to facilitate communication between part time staff and management
  • Communicates with and maintains effective relationships with the patrons and other staff

Qualifications

  • Ability to attend required staff meetings and trainings (every Wednesday at 8:00am)
  • Must be available to attend job-specific training starting late May prior to the summer season
  • A minimum of 20 hours of weekly availability (equivalent to 3-4 shifts a week).
    1. Must be available to work mornings evenings weekends and holidays
  • Must be available and commit to employment for the majority of the summer season (early June through mid-August)
  • Must be 17 years of age prior to the start of the season
