TITLE: MILLERS AFTERSCHOOL (MAS) AIDE
REPORTS TO: Millers Afterschool Site Supervisor and Childrens Programs Director within the Yukon Community Education Department.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 16 years of age.
JOB DESCRIPTION:TheMASAideis responsible for assisting the Site Supervisor with planning leading and implementing experiences for children in small group settings. They will also be responsible for the general safety and development growth of the participants in his/her group.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in organizing and leading a variety of small and large group activities each week. Activities may include outdoor indoor and physical activities.
- Identify and respond to student behavior issues.
- Ensure that the site is kept clean organized and free of litter.
- Communicate with parents about students experiences and report concerns to Site Supervisor.
- Assist in maintaining accurate program records including incident reports and daily attendance.
- Know and understand ALL emergency procedures associated with the MAS program.
- Know enforce and follow all safety guidelines associated with the program. This includes but is not limited to being responsible for the students safety and their whereabouts at all times.
- Accepts the responsibility and arrives punctually for activities and duties as assigned.
- Maintains appropriate emotional control physical health and personal appearance.
- Performs such other tasks and assumes other tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned by Site Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education classes or experience in camp youth programs recreation working with children or in a related field.
- Ability to lead plan organize and implement program activities.
- Ability to work as a member of a team and the ability to accomplish tasks with little direct supervision.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Background check and applicable fees may apply.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must have the physical ability to lead and participate in program activities.
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Monday - Friday;2:00 pm - 5:30 pm
- $9.00 per hour

EVALUATION:Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the Boards policy of evaluation for classified personnel.
