Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Serve as DOTDs technical expert in traffic monitoring equipment systems and technologies
  • Manage and oversee the statewide inventory of traffic monitoring equipment including procurement maintenance and operational integrity
  • Provide advanced technical guidance to engineers technicians and district personnel
  • Develop evaluate and implement procedures standards and best practices for traffic monitoring systems
  • Diagnose and resolve complex equipment system and data issues
  • Serve as DOTDs representative in meetings with local state and federal partners
  • Prepare technical reports analyses and recommendations for leadership decision-making
  • Support installation inspection testing and calibration of permanent traffic monitoring equipment
  • Evaluate new technologies and recommend innovations to improve data accuracy and reliability
  • Assist with emergency or disaster response activities as needed

This role requires strong analytical skills technical judgment and the ability to work independently on complex non-routine issues.

Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational Promotional or Job Appointment or Detail to Special Duty
Compensation:This position is eligible for premium pay of $1.00 per hour for all hours worked. Premium pay is subject to applicable rules and may change based on assignment funding or policy.
