The Regional EHS Manager is responsible for managing delivering and supporting all EHS initiatives for Creative Door Services Ltd. (CDS) locations. This is a Senior position that requires expert level EHS knowledge strong time management skills and minimal supervision. This is a highly collaborative position that requires not only excellent knowledge of OHS standards but also the ability to work with stakeholders in identifying and implementing the proper EH&S solutions at each location.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities
- Develop and oversee EHS strategy for Creative Door Services locations.
- Directing and overseeing processes and procedures to train counsel and advise personnel on safety issues through management safety bulletins newsletters memos formal training and meetings to establish a proactive approach to providing a safe working environment
- Conducting inperson meetings with customers contractors and external auditors to review safety expectations discuss compliance requirements and address identified concerns in a professional manner.
- Performing regular onsite visits to customer locations job sites and branch operations to observe work practices identify hazards verify compliance with OH&S standards and provide realtime coaching to employees and supervisors.
- Hosting physical site audits with OHS representatives insurance representatives and thirdparty auditors including escorting them through facilities providing requested documentation and ensuring corrective actions are addressed promptly.
- Ensure the safety inspection process is performed and documented at each location monthly. Instruct location management and personnel on how to complete the inspection process and identify hazards for mitigation.
- Support hazard mitigation and corrective action efforts as needed.
- Provide support and ensure the completion of required duties and annual performance goals.
- Create and foster a team culture that promotes a positive work environment and ensures positive safety results within EHS employees respective territories.
- Build and maintain relationships to ensure safety success with local Leadership location Managers and Administrators to drive EHS policy compliance.
- Represent the Organizations interests when meeting with representatives of OHS during formal inspections of facilities and assist in implementing corrective action and follow up with OHS or other such agencies.
- Assist in the creation and revision EHS Safety Procedures and Training.
- Oversee the Origami incident management system for CDS locations to ensure injuries have been entered properly classified correctly investigations have been completed and corrective actions have been assigned and completed. Track completion performance on EHS Dashboards.
- Ensure safety training is being completed and regularly updated at all locations for both current and new EHS policies and programs.
- Act as subject matter expert on OHS compliance requirements for all locations within identified territory.
- Oversee EHS reporting metrics and analytics for identified locations.
- Deliver Monthly SPL briefings.
- Attend hearings as needed on workers compensation cases.
- Assist with additional EHS initiatives as requested.
QualificationsQualifications
- 7 to 10 years of progressive safety and health experience in warehousing construction and service & installation environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts in a concise simple and actionable manner to a wide variety of audiences.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel PowerPoint Word and third-party systems.
- Ability to prioritize multitask and has demonstrated success establishing best practices systems and processes in warehousing field-based installation and service environments.
- Energetic self-starter who takes initiative owns responsibilities and is adaptable to growing and changing environments.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong rapport and working relationships with employees management and executive leadership.
- Ability to negotiate present and influence
- A thorough understanding of federal and state regulations including OHS provincial federal and local regulatory requirements.
- Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment screening requirements including background check.
Education
- BS in Health and Safety Environmental Engineering or related field is required. Additional 5 years of EHS experience may substitute.
- CRSP or currently working towards certification.
Travel
- 25% travel may be required.
