Job Summary
Summary of Duties:
The Supervisor Anatomic Pathology candidate will have technical expertise in Histopathology.
- Provide administrative support for all lab areas under Anatomic Pathology
- Strong theoretical knowledge and practical expertise of Histotechnology in a clinical laboratory
- Will work effectively with medical staff management peers technical and administrative staff users of laboratory medicine to ensure quality patient care services are maintained
- Leads opportunities to improve services including the identification evaluation and implementation of technical enhancements;
- Ensures that all staff adhere to standardized practices in daily performance of duties
- Works with management to ensure effective financial and human resource utilization including development of budgets business cases and performance monitoring
- Active participation at internal and external meetings and committee work is required
Qualifications/Skills:
- CMLTO licensing as a General Medical Laboratory Technologist
- Minimum 3 years in a senior position in a clinical Histotechnology laboratory
- Required to work in a dynamic busy environment
- Demonstrated theoretical and practical knowledge of all aspects of Histotechnology
- Demonstrated knowledge of quality systems including quality control quality assurance LEAN principles
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to foster a supportive team environment.
- Demonstrated effective problem solving and decision making skills.
- Effective interactions with individuals at all levels
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and organization skills
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word Excel Powerpoint
