We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Project Engineer with 35 years of experience in land systems or heavy mechanical platforms to join our growing engineering team. This role will support the design development integration and delivery of complex land-based systems and vehicles.
You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams including systems electrical manufacturing and supply chain to ensure projects are delivered on time within scope and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support mechanical design and development activities for land systems platforms
- Manage engineering project deliverables from concept through production
- Prepare and review technical documentation drawings and specifications
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors on technical requirements
- Conduct design reviews risk assessments and validation activities
- Support prototype builds testing and integration activities
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry and defence standards
- Track project schedules budgets and technical performance
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 35 years of relevant experience in land systems defence automotive or heavy machinery environments
- Experience in mechanical design (e.g. structures drivetrains suspension systems armored platforms or subsystems integration)
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks CATIA Creo or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of GD&T materials selection and manufacturing processes
- Experience with project lifecycle management
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
