Program Summary
KBR supports the operational needs of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain and several bases in Turkey. Our services ensure smooth operations allowing Air Force and government personnel to focus on their missions. We provide program management civil engineering morale welfare and recreation support among other essential services. Awarded by the Air Force Installation Contracting Center our contract spans a five-year base period with three one-year options reflecting our commitment to excellence and operational support.
Job Summary
Install inspect troubleshoot repair operate and maintain electrical power generation and distribution equipment. Install inspect troubleshoot repair operate and maintain Aircraft Arresting Systems and associated equipment. You will ensure the safety of each team member and in addition you are responsible for safeguarding assigned tools equipment and other resources efficiently.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Install maintain troubleshoot repair and operate diesel generator sets from 10kw to 350kw ensuring on-time and accurate completion in accordance with blueprints/drawings and or written instructions.
- Connect diesel generator sets and electrical distribution switchgear to include installation of panel boards branch circuits breakers switches conduit and wiring.
- Perform full range of organization-level maintenance; scheduled and unscheduled repairs and maintenance troubleshooting and diagnostic testing in power generation equipment.
- Perform Aircraft Arresting System (AAS) maintenance troubleshooting and repairs within strict Air Force standards.
- Perform start/run operational inspections on generator sets and full load/facility load tests routine operational checks of all electrical switchgear power cabling and transformers.
- Troubleshoot electrical generator sets to include all internal systems and components.
- Work standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment and using a variety of electricians hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.
- Perform tasks to ensure on-time and accurate work completion in accordance with Performance Work Statement requirements blueprints/drawings and or written instructions.
- Read and interpret electrical and electronic schematic wiring diagrams manufacturers literature and standard operating procedures.
- Use test equipment to troubleshoot electronic/electrical equipment.
- Maintain inventory of supplies parts tools and equipment as applicable.
- Participate and actively ensure the safety of all KBR employees.
- Daily use of Microsoft Office products (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook) to complete reports tasks and communicate with customers and co-workers
- Physical requirements include being able to lift 50 kilos climbing ladders extended sitting or standing and working in normal and adverse weather conditions to include high temperatures noisy and dusty both indoors and outdoors.
- Evaluate troubleshoot electrical equipment and systems to determine corrective action
Basic Qualifications
- Must have FP-2 Diploma technical school completion or equivalent.
- Must have at least 5 years of trade related work experience with generator produced power and switching systems producing up to 400v.
- Must have broad knowledge of internal combustion engines and electrical principles.
- Must have familiarity with the American and Spanish electrical code and connectors.
- Must have ability to communicate in native language and proficient in English to perform assigned duties.
- Must possess a Spanish Class B drivers license.
Preferred Qualifications
- English Reading Level II Written Level II Verbal Level II.
