Job Title

Sr. Planner/Analyst- Engineer III- Landside/Process

Overview of Responsibilities

Under direction of Owners Planning & Design Divisions (PDD) Operational Planning Section supports Owners operational business units in documenting analyzing and recommending solutions/improvements to current and future operational challenges within the organization. Serves as a technical resource within an airport/aviation planning area Landside Terminal or Airside.

Conducts and manages technical studies data analysis and simulation of airport business/operations.

Essential Job Duties

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Supports process improvement by coordinating with operational business units identifying and documenting ine ciencies around Owners landside components and providing improvement opportunities.
  • Data collection and analysis of various landside aviation operational data such as:
  • Historic and upcoming ight schedules
  • Reported transaction data from Owners ground transportation operators
  • Tra c signal and tra c timing data
  • Transit shuttle bussing routing and schedules
  • Parking access and revenue data
  • Curb and space allocation and utilization
  • Curb parking and roadway occupancy
  • Origin and Destination data of employees and passengers
  • Develop curbside and parking allocation and utilization reports based on passenger demand
  • Develop reports on origin and destination trends
    • Prepare/Review/Lead studies and analysis on:
    • Improving operational e ciency and capability
    • Increasing operational capacity for the airport
    • Managing and reducing roadway tra c shuttle delays
    • Operational changes due to construction policy safety or other technical requirements that a ect airport operations and business.

Simulation and modeling.

  • Working knowledge of Cubic Synchro Studio and/or PTV Group VISSIM
  • Run curbside microsimulation models and tra c signal network synchro models
  • Review other modeling/simulation work done by other entities or projects.
  • Have Simio or other processing simulation type modeling experience
  • Field observations for data collection and information gathering on airport operations
    • Analyze work ows processes and allocations such as operational sta ng curb allocation way nding etc.
  • Review various studies modeling methodology assumptions parameters and sources
  • Review functionality and operations of massing stacking conceptual layout plans.
    • Review and preliminary concept drawings from an operational and functional perspective.
    • Provide recommendations on improvements and layouts on use of space on landside and other Owners ancillary space
    • Provide sketches on layout or space allocation improvements for further analysis.
  • Develop business process owcharts such as swim lane diagrams Visio charts RACI matrixes etc.

Coordinates with commercial operations maintenance and other stakeholders as needed to provide input review results or modify assumptions.

  • Develop reports and presentations to stakeholders and airport management as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Education Level:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering

Professional Licenses & Certifications:

  • Licensed Engineer (PE) (preferably by CA Board of Engineers) is required
  • For structural engineers SE is preferred
  • For geotechnical engineers GE is preferred

Minimum Years and Experience:

  • 10 years or more experience preferably on airport projects

Professional Experience Level/Other Quali cations

  • Experience in Synchro PTV VISSIM Simio: Digital Twin Simulation Software or tra c modeling and processing/simulation software
  • Pro cient with MS O ce and MS 365 products
  • Experience with data and statistical software such as Python R SAS etc.
  • Experience with analytical software such as Excel PowerBI Tableau GIS
  • Experience with AutoCAD Revit BIM GIS etc.
  • Experience with Visio or other process visualization software

Compensation

This role is salaried/exempt with a base annual salary range of $184700.00.00 - $194700.00 and commensurate with skill education experience and work location.

This role is bonus eligible after 6 months of employment.
