Work Experience Mandatory:
- The Contractor employee selected shall have at least 5 years of comparable paralegal experience in order to participate in substantive development of cases.
- Experience with interpreting voluminous case materials to offer correction to case files (i.e. inconsistent material leads not investigated).
- Analyzes relevant statistics in case files against case law and litigation worthiness standards.
- Researches available precedence relevant to cases under consideration in order to present case summary to assigned attorneys
- Experience in reviewing sorting classifying data to discover patterns of possible discriminatory activity.
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license for any potential work-related travel
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must pass background investigation or obtain pre-employment waiver approval prior to start.

Roles And Responsibilities:
- Provides a variety of direct paralegal services to assist AUSAs.
- Seeks information from known sources and locates new sources of information in aid of ACE investigations and trials through contacts or correspondence with other departments and/or agencies of federal state and local government witnesses and counsel for targets/defendants. Uses legal authorities and current case law to independently gather factual material; reads annotates and summarizes transcripts files and other factual aspects of the case; obtains financial and statistical information agency records court records and/or other public records including public information databases; analyzes documents assists with agency interviews or potential witnesses and drafts factually precise legal memoranda.
- Reviews organizes and analyzes the financial and management operations of a variety of organizations.
- Gathers sorts and examines a wide array of financial documents obtained from a variety of sources including financial statements billing records invoices data processing material bank records and other documents.
- Accurately interpreting data and statistical evaluations to prepare and present oral and written report to AUSA and/or judges.
- Reviews and analyzes various health care records including medical records billing records Medicaid or Medicare data and other ACE- related records.
- Proficiently performs timely accurate case file review and analysis against legal standards. Notes case file deficiencies (missing documents inconsistent material) and requests further investigation to correct deficiencies within approved authority.
- Performs assigned case development tasks which are typically covered by established legal research utilizing common available research tools and legal reference materials as necessary
- Responsible for organizing inventorying and processing large quantities of records data and discovery documents and preparing abundant exhibits for settlement discussions discovery requests and for trial.
- Organizes and analyzes discovery responses.
- Provides automated litigation assistance to attorneys in complex ACE related trial preparation and courtroom presentations.
- Utilizes various software applications and graphics hardware such as scanners and plotters. Prepares documents statistical charts and visual materials for use in trials.
- Provides technical support (e.g. enlarging charts and photographs duplicating DVDs and videos and marking exhibits).
- Strong knowledge of Westlaw Lexis Electronic Case Filing system (CaseView or like) document scanning software I-Pro Eclipse or Relativity (or similar system) and Case Map Time Map (or similar database).
- Has a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Word Excel PowerPoint) and Trial Director (or like software) used for displaying documents at trial.
- Government work is expected to be performed with 95% accuracy and performance of duties are to be completed according to set deadlines provided by AUSA or court.
