Summary:
The Academy of the Holy Names seeks an energetic
Summer on Bayshore Camp Counselor to supervise campers ranging from PK3 to 8th grade. The counselor will oversee assigned groups ensuring a safe and engaging environment during learning adult-led activities and indoor and outdoor play. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are essential. Primary hours are 8:00 am. 4:00 pm.
Reports to: Director of Auxiliary Programs and Summer Camp Director
Qualifications:
Experience working with children in a school or camp setting is preferred
Assist roles: High School diploma and actively seeking a college degree in education preferred
Lead roles: Bachelors Degree teaching certificate preferred
Must be 18 years or older
Classification: Seasonal hourly position
Responsibilities:
Supervise children ranging from PK3 to 8th Grade
Supervise and ensure safety for indoor activities playground time and pool time
Supervise high school volunteers to be sure they are actively involved with the children
Lead or assist in daily activities and needs for the campers best interest
Monitor lunch and snack times for campers
Monitor and enforce the Summer on Bayshore rules and expectations for continued safety
Able to work effectively in Floridas Summer heat both indoors and outdoors
Required to sit talk hear and visually communicate with campers parents and supervisors
Other duties as assigned.
