EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration or a related field. An MBA is preferred. The role requires at least 7 to 10 years of experience in commercial or consumer credit loan workout special assets or a related credit administration field with a minimum of 2 to 3 years in a leadership or managerial role. Professional certifications such as CRC CBA or similar credit risk and lending certifications are preferred. This position will involve direct report responsibilities and the candidate must have the expertise to manage and resolve complex credit-related challenges.

JOB SUMMARY

The Credit Resolution Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing a team of Resolution Officers in the management and resolution of criticized delinquent and non-performing credit relationships. This role provides strategic direction and operational oversight to ensure the team effectively monitors at-risk loan portfolios negotiates repayment arrangements develops restructuring and workout strategies and minimizes potential credit losses. Responsible for ensuring all resolution activities are conducted in accordance with Association credit policies regulatory requirements and borrower rights.

In addition to team leadership the Credit Resolution Manager is accountable for ensuring the quality and consistency of borrower interactions documentation and compliance. This includes reviewing and approving distressed loan restructuring plans forbearance agreements and formal notices as well as overseeing foreclosure actions and bankruptcy case management. Ensuring that all communications and actions taken by the team are properly documented and delivered in accordance with institutional standards and applicable laws.

This position requires a proactive approach to risk mitigation a strong understanding of agricultural lending and legal frameworks and the ability to guide a team through complex resolution processes. Fostering collaboration across departments maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and promoting a culture of compliance accountability and continuous improvement within the Credit Resolution Group.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead and manage the activities of the Credit Resolution team in managing delinquent non-performing and high-risk loans.
  • Foster an environment of accountability regulatory compliance and continuous improvement within the Credit Resolution Group by setting clear expectations reinforcing best practices and encouraging team development and operational excellence.
  • Helps develop and implement strategies for loan workouts restructures and recoveries in coordination with legal lending and collections teams.
  • Reviews and approves proposed borrower solutions and complex distress loan restructuring plans forbearance plans or settlement agreements for distressed loans ensuring they are financially sound legally compliant and aligned with policies.
  • Ensures accurate and timely documentation of all resolution activities in accordance with institutional policies and borrower rights.
  • Evaluates borrower financial conditions collateral values and repayment capacity to recommend appropriate resolution plans.
  • Prepares and presents portfolio performance reports including delinquency recovery and loss trends to senior leadership.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies credit risk standards borrower rights and applicable regulations.
  • Collaborates with Relationship Managers Credit staff and Regional Leadership to identify emerging risks and assists with proactive solutions.
  • Coach mentors and develops staff to enhance analytical negotiation and customer relationship skills.
  • Actively supports internal and external audits by preparing documentation responding to examiner inquiries and ensuring the Credit Resolution teams practices align with regulatory expectations. Contributes to portfolio reviews by analyzing loan performance identifying risk trends and recommending corrective actions to improve credit quality.
  • Directs the teams handling of foreclosure proceedings and bankruptcy cases ensuring all actions are timely properly documented and conducted in accordance with applicable laws and borrower protections. Coordinates with legal counsel to manage litigation risk and optimize recovery outcomes.
  • Implement proactive monitoring practices to support the Resolution Team in identifying and mitigating emerging credit risks by analyzing past due loan reports portfolio trends and borrower behavior for early indicators of financial distress.
  • Apply specialized understanding of agricultural lending practices in resolution strategies. Leverage deep knowledge of agricultural finance including seasonal cash flows commodity cycles and farm operations to tailor resolution plans that reflect the unique challenges of ag borrowers. Ensure that workout strategies are both practical and sustainable within the agricultural context.
  • Collaborates closely with the Director of Credit Resolution to ensure all borrower rights are upheld and that resolution plans foreclosure actions and related processes are executed accurately and in full compliance with regulatory and institutional standards.
  • Supports the Director in monitoring team performance verifying that operational goals are consistently met and identifying areas for improvement. Assists in aligning team efforts with strategic objectives maintaining high standards of service quality and ensuring accountability across all resolution activities.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong knowledge of credit risk management loan documentation and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and structure complex loan resolutions.

  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and credit management systems.
