The Behavioral Health Service Line (BHSL) Northwest Arkansas Odyssey Clinic is currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Health Education Specialist to join our First Episode Psychosis Program Team. This position will be responsible for providing comprehensive support services associated with the NAVIGATE programs Supportive Employment and Education Specialist (SEE) and other case management services to our clients who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis. As a Health Education Specialist/Care Coordinator you will play a crucial role in assisting our clients in achieving their vocational and educational goals through the NAVIGATE programs Supportive Employment and Education Specialist (SEE) and other case management services.

- Strong understanding of and experience in providing employment and educational support services to individuals experiencing mental health challenges preferably within the field of psychiatry or mental health.
- Knowledge of local resources employers and educational providers related to vocational and educational services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with clients families and other professionals.
- Strong assessment and problem-solving abilities with the ability to think outside the box and come up with creative solutions for clients vocational and educational needs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team taking initiative and following through on tasks.
- Commitment to promoting recovery and resilience in individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
- Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations related to employment and education.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other computer applications.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in education English Speech Communication Social Work or related field plus Two (2) years of experience. OR High School Diploma plus six (6) years of related experience.
Additional Information:
Key Responsibilities:
- The SEE specialist will engage in collaboration with clients and their families and may intervene with employers and academic professionals to assist clients with obtaining retaining completing or transitioning vocational and/or educational objectives per NAVIGATE protocols and standards.
- Services will be provided in office in home visits and/or other designated community spaces (e.g. workplaces and academic settings). Care management responsibilities may include case management services operations support assisting the therapy and nursing teams with case management tasks and unit operations tasks. The employee is responsible for coordinating services for guests and will follow the guidance of the primary therapist to help carry out treatment plan goals and objectives.
- The SEE specialist will participate in weekly and other periodic supervision NAVIGATE team meetings and periodic client treatment planning/review meetings.
- The SEE specialist works directly under the supervision of the Odyssey Clinic Social Work Program Manager and/or Clinic Medical Director and with other staff in roles designated in the NAVIGATE protocol. The SEE specialist must have the ability to make decisions related to treatment planning and implementation in conjunction with client needs and shared decision-making with staff clients families employers and academic institutions. The SEE specialist will develop and apply an understanding of first episode psychosis and its impact on client functioning across different domains of life with a focus on vocational/educational areas. They will develop an understanding of how local state and federal policies may also impact clients experiencing their first episode of psychosis. Adaptive technological skills are required.
- The SEE specialist will be responsible for ongoing communications with his or her supervisor and other members of the treatment team and will complete clinical and administrative processes and documentation in compliance with relevant policies and procedures. The specialist will participate in staff meetings trainings supervision and continuing education activities as needed to maintain quality provision and coordination of care as well as any professional licensure and/or certification.
