Veterinary Area Director (DVM) Clinical Leadership
A growing veterinary organization is seeking an experiencedArea Medical Director (DVM) to provide medical leadership across multiple companion animal clinics in California. This role is ideal for a seasoned veterinarian who enjoys coaching doctors strengthening clinical standards and supporting high-performing teams while remaining active in clinical practice.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor veterinarians across multiple clinic locations
Promote consistent medical standards and quality of care
Provide guidance on case management workflow and client communication
Support hiring onboarding and professional development of doctors
Partner with operations leaders to improve performance and patient outcomes
Assist with new clinic openings and clinical program implementation
Qualifications
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree
Active California veterinary license in good standing
Minimum 5 years of clinical experience; leadership or multi-site experience preferred
Strong communication coaching and organizational skills
Willingness to travel regularly within Northern California
