Job Summary
POSITION SUMMARY:
This role requires traditional machining expertise to fabricate modify and repair metal and composite components used in the yacht-building process. The ideal candidate will be hands-on experienced in operating manual and CNC lathes mills drill presses and other conventional machining tools.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Operate manual and CNC lathes milling machines drill presses and other conventional machining equipment. 30%
- Read and interpret blueprints sketches and technical drawings to produce accurate components. 10%
- Measure and inspect machined parts to ensure they meet precise tolerances and quality standards. 10%
- Modify or repair metal and composite components used in yacht construction. 10%
- Use hand tools and precision measuring instruments such as calipers micrometers and dial indicators.10%
- Perform routine maintenance on machining equipment to ensure optimal operation. 10%
- Collaborate with welders fabricators and production teams to meet project requirements. 10%
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following safety protocols and best practices. 10%
- ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Degree Required: High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training preferred
- Preferred Degree: N/A
- Certificate(s) or License(s): N/A
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in as a machinist in a manufacturing or marine related field
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITY:
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively speak to groups of associates supervisors and managers
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- None
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regularly walks sits and stands.
Occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs. and does computer work.
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within the general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.
