Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified Elementary Resource Special Education Teacher to support students in a resource setting at Margaret Hearne Elementary School. The ideal candidate will have experience managing IEPs collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and supporting diverse learners within the elementary population.
Student Population
Elementary (K5)
Caseload: Approximately 30 students
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct instructional support to students with disabilities
Develop implement and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Participate in required staff meetings
Attend and lead IEP meetings (OT approved for additional meetings)
Collaborate with general education teachers parents and support staff
Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations
Monitor and document student progress
Required Qualifications
Active EC (Exceptional Children) Licensure
Ability to pass Wilson County required background check
Experience with elementary special education population preferred
