Summary

A Freight Forwarder is responsible for managing the importation and exportation of goods by ocean including all aspects of the logistics process such as customs clearance carrier booking cargo tracking documentation delivery or pick up of goods and communication with customers and third party service providers. This role involves coordinating with various parties including carriers customs brokers and trucking companies to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.

Duties and Responsibilities

Manage the importation of goods by ocean including customs clearance and delivery to thefinal destination

Manage the exportation of goods by ocean including carrier booking and managing the movement of goods through various transportation channels.

Coordinate with carriers customs brokers and trucking companies to ensuretimelydelivery of goods

Prepare processsubmitrequired documentation for customs clearance including commercial invoices packing lists bills of lading and other relevant paperwork

Track andmonitorshipments and provide regular updates to customers on the status of their shipments

Manage relationships with customers ensuring their satisfaction and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise

Collaborate with other internal departments such aslogistics finance and operations to ensuretimelyand efficient service delivery

Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws including customs regulations and trade laws

All other duties as assigned

Educational background / Work experience

Prior experience in freightforwardinglogistics or a related field is preferred

Experience inoceanimportand exportis highly desirable

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations such as calculating costs and rates

Experience withlogisticssoftware and systems is preferred
Prior use of CargoWise a plus

For this position the expected base pay is:$22.50 - $30.50 / Hourly. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge geographical location skills experience and other objective business considerations.
