Job Summary

Summary:
The Academy of the Holy Names seeks a Certified Lifeguard for Summer on Bayshore to supervise swimming activities the pool area as well as indoor and outdoor play for campers ages 3 to 14. Lifeguards are to be responsible quick-thinking and capable of making sound decisions while ensuring a safe environment.

Reports to: Director of Auxiliary Programs and Assistant Director of Camp Operations

Qualifications:

Current Lifeguard Certification or ability to renew before April 1st.
Must be 17 years or older

Classification: Seasonal hourly position

Responsibilities:

Lifeguard is responsible for the safety and supervision of each camper from age three (3) to fourteen (14) years of age in and around the pool or supervised area.
Lifeguard is responsible to assist in the campers transitions including but not limited to: walking campers back after swimming directing to the next camp activity and/or to lunch if needed.
Lifeguard assists in the management of counselors campers coaches and volunteers at and around the pool to provide a safe pool environment
Lifeguards must be present and an active supervisor when campers are using the pool.
Lifeguard will assist with inside games in the event pool time is canceled due to weather.
Lifeguards are required to have current Safe Environment Training (SET) and will participate in a training session prior to the first day of Summer Camp.
Lifeguards acknowledge that positions may be changed/altered due to the needs of Summer on Bayshore and weather.
In the event of an unforeseeable circumstance where the Lifeguard will be unable to attend the week of a camp it is their responsibility to notify the Director of Auxiliary Programs and the Summer Camp Director directly by phone and email.
