JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor the Medical Administrative Assistant is responsible for patient registration scheduling insurance verification collecting patient payments telephone triage and general office duties
ResponsibilitiesPerforms patient registration/check-ins patient collections insurance and demographic verifications.
Prepares and mails new patient applications.
Completes PCP change forms when necessary during check-in process.
Answers phone calls and routes calls and messages through EMR.
Schedules interpreter for hearing-impaired patients.
Communicates with patients regarding appointments and wait times.
Maintains cleanliness of front office space and waiting rooms.
Answer appointment line and assist patients with scheduling appointments.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
QualificationsEDUCATION:High School diploma or GED.(TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of experience in an administrative role in an office-based setting.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to multi-task in a busy work environment.
Good computer skills.
Knowledge and ability to work in Microsoft Office.
WORK SCHEDULE: This position may be occasionally required to work evenings
