The program

Aus4Skills Phase 3 is a ten-year DFAT-funded program partnering with the Government of Vietnam to strengthen bilateral ties by supporting Vietnams human resource development priorities. Focused on higher education the Vietnam Australia Centre and vocational education and training (VET) the program builds workforce-ready inclusive climate-adaptive skills public sector leadership and alumni networks. It targets gender equality disability and social inclusion and support for disadvantaged Australia Awards students. Outcomes include stronger AustraliaVietnam strategic partnerships enhanced public sector leadership and womens advancement and industry-aligned VET that meets labour market needs while promoting social equity and sustainable growth.


The role

The Senior Coordinator for the Vietnam Australia Centre (VAC) will support the coordination of the Centres planning delivery and reporting of professional development activities through administrative financial and logistical support. The role will also support the Centres stakeholder engagement governance monitoring evaluation and reporting risk management and communications. As well as mainstreaming cross cutting initiatives such as gender equality disability equity and social inclusion; and climate adaptation.

The Senior Coordinator will play an integral role in supporting the successful delivery of the Aus4Skills End of Program Outcome 2: Vietnam and Australia have a strengthened strategic partnership for public sector governance that fosters increased leadership capability and networks advances women in leadership and promotes inclusive green growth and institutional innovation.


Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate planning and delivery of VAC leadership training and professional development activities including administrative financial and logistical support
  • Manage coordination with Australian educational delivery partners to ensure contractual and contextual alignment
  • Organise governance and implementation activities such as meetings courses delegations to Australia workshops and major events
  • Support stakeholder engagement with Vietnamese government agencies Australian embassy/partners and alumni
  • Assist with monitoring and evaluation budgeting and reporting: collect feedback monitor expenditure and prepare activity reports
  • Ensure compliance with DFAT safeguards and mainstream cross cutting initiatives (such as GEDSI) across VAC activities.


Selection criteria

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent professional experience
  • Professional experience coordinating training/programs or HRD in education or international development (preferably at least 5 years)
  • Proven event and logistics coordination for short courses workshops and/or conferences
  • Fluent Vietnamese and English with strong written and oral communication
  • Demonstrated budgeting monitoring and reporting skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge/commitment to DFAT safeguards and ability to mainstream cross cutting initiatives into activities
