SCOPE OF WORK: Assists the Bursar in the overall operations of student financial services which includes billing receivables reconciliation and cashiering functions. This position reports to the Bursar at NHTI Concords Community College.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Acts as the primary or back-up for the Bursar and executes the functions of the Bursar position in the Bursars absence;
Closes out cashier sessions and runs reports or balances daily sessions and posts deposit JVs;
Supervises Collection process: oversees collections process; Uploads/posts collection receipts;
Supervises Third Party Payment process: builds contracts mails invoices and reconciles accounts. Works closely with VA representative in Registrars office VA payment representative and VA students to process billing and payments;
Supervises exemptions/Credits/Waivers: reviews and posts to students accounts and maintains supporting documentation;
Supervises processing of reconciliation and refunding of grants Title IV and alternative financial aid loans; Stays current on the Federal Department of Educations Federal Regulations including but not limited to FERPA and HERPA rules;
Keeps financial records and verifies accounting data and computations; Aids students by phone mail or in person concerning their questions on any financial aspect of their education;
Supports Bursar in maintaining and reviewing the student billing process including the preparation of e-bills email reminders and paper bills;
Assists the Bursar with coordinating with various campus offices as required to ensure a smooth registration process; attends/speaks publicly at Orientations and Open Houses as needed;
Provides customer service to students/parents regarding tuition and fee billing financial aid and/or loan and grant awards. Also assists with CCSNH information system;
Running of reports designed for clean up of student accounts;
Utilizes various electronic databases and software such as BANNER Microsoft Office Suite and NELNET;
Complies with all college system state and federal rules and regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associates degree in accounting or business management. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience: 4 years experience in bookkeeping accounting or auditing work. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
License/Certification: None required.

Ability to interpret financial statements and to prepare accurate accounting reports and statements. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority.
