PositionSummary

The Communications & Content Specialist supports college-wide communication efforts by creating editing and managinghighqualitycontent across digital platforms. This role focuses on producing newsletters and email campaigns ensuring clear consistentmessagingthatengagesstudents and internal audiences. The ideal candidate is an organizeddetailorientedcommunicator who enjoys collaborating across departments in afastpacedenvironment.

Essential JobDuties

  • Create write and edit newsletters using Mailchimp and Microsoft Newsletter including a weeklyenewsletterdistributed to students.

  • Develop and manage email campaigns that support college initiatives events and priorities.

  • Copyeditand proofread flyers promotional materials and internal communication pieces to ensure accuracy consistency and brand alignment.

  • Manage and track assigned projects in the colleges project management system ensuringtimelyprogress and delivery.

  • Collaborate with team members in Marketing & Communications to align messaging andmaintaineditorial quality across platforms.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support communication goals and college priorities.

RequiredKnowledgeSkills &Abilities

  • Strong writing editing and proofreading skills withdemonstratedattention to detail.

  • Experience creating digital content preferably in Mailchimp Microsoft Newsletter or similar tools.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects meet deadlines andmaintainaccuracy in afastpacedenvironment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiencywith Microsoft Office and comfort learning new software tools.

PreferredKnowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Experience in writing-related fields including marketing communicationsjournalismor academics.

  • Familiarity with project management systems.

  • Understanding ofbrand voice AP style and content best practices.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:(The conditionshereinare representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.)

Environment:Work is performed in a variety of settingsincluding butnot limitedto:college-owned vehicles ( buses vans trucks and cars) and in a standard office setting with frequent interruptions and distractions or in laboratory/maintenance may include extreme weather conditions such as heat cold and precipitation. Requires extended periods of timeofdriving sitting idle viewing computermonitoror standing; may require adjustment of schedule to include some evening and/or weekends; mayencounteroccasional exposure to inclement weather during travel.

Physical:Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to lift carry push and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.
