We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef de Partie - Pastry to join our culinary team in Sofitel Brisbane Central. As a key member of our kitchen staff you will be responsible for creating exquisite pastries and desserts that delight our guests and uphold our reputation for excellence.
- Prepare and present a wide range of high-quality pastries desserts and baked goods
- Assist in developing new menu items and refining existing recipes
- Maintain the highest standards of food safety hygiene and sanitation in the pastry kitchen
- Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
- Manage inventory place orders and control costs for pastry ingredients and supplies
- Train and supervise junior pastry staff fostering their skill development
- Collaborate with the sous chef and head chef to maintain kitchen efficiency
- Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all pastry items
- Contribute creative ideas for special events and seasonal menu changes
- Adapt to changing priorities and maintain efficiency during peak service times
- Stay current with pastry trends and techniques to continually improve our offerings.
Qualifications :
- Trade Qualification in Commercial Cookery or patisserie
- Completed culinary training or apprenticeship
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Demi Chef or equivalent role in pastry
- Extensive knowledge of pastry techniques recipes and current trends
- Proven ability to create visually stunning and delicious desserts
- Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written
- Food safety and hygiene certification
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced high-pressure environment
- Creativity and innovation in dessert presentation and flavor combinations
- Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach to kitchen operations
- Attention to detail and commitment to consistent high-quality output
- Flexibility to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays as needed.
