DescriptionJob Summary
The Payment Reimbursement Analyst is responsible for identifying payer accounts to determine compliance with payer contracts. The analyst will audit these accounts and follow up with payers on resolution on reimbursement discrepancies. This position will play a key role in departmental projects pertaining to quality and performance improvement. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Serve as subject matter experts and resources on interpretation of payor contract language to ensure appropriate reimbursement by insurance companies.
- Identify analyze and report trends in repayment issues to leadership.
- Complete special AR projects to help liquidate key segments of Baptist aging AR.
- Participates in the development of the department long-term and short-term goals objectives plans policies and procedures.
- Applies consistent and standardized reporting of findings and repayment calculations.
- Communicates with insurance companies daily.
Specifications
Experience
Minimum Required
- Two (2) years of experience working in accounting finance or a hospital revenue cycle environment.
Preferred/Desired
Education
Minimum Required
- Associates Degree in Accounting Finance or Business. Or an equivalent combination of previous related payment reimbursement experience and education.
Preferred/Desired
- Bachelors degree in healthcare accounting Business or other related field
Training
Minimum Required

Special Skills
Minimum Required
- Strong analytical skills. Good verbal and written communication skills in the English language. Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. Knowledge of healthcare receivables.
