Job Summary
Senior Registered Nurse - SACT / Oncology

37.5 Hours & Permanent
Salary: Up to 49000.00 per year(depending on level of experience training and qualification)
We have an opportunity for a Senior Registered Nurse - SACTto join their team of staff in theOncology department.
This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern.
Duties of this role include:
- Deliver Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) safely and effectively in line with national guidance local policies and competency frameworks.
- Undertake comprehensive patient assessments including pre-treatment review toxicity assessment and ongoing monitoring throughout treatment cycles.
- Provide clinical leadership and day-to-day guidance to junior nurses and support staff within the SACT service.
- Support induction supervision and competency assessment of nursing staff delivering SACT.
- Ensure compliance with SACT governance frameworks including national chemotherapy standards COSHH and medicines management requirements.
- Participate in clinical audit incident reporting and investigation contributing to shared learning and service improvement.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC registration.
- Significant post-registration experience in oncology nursing.
- Level 6 or 7 qualification in the administration of Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT).
- Proven experience delivering SACT independently and safely.
- Strong understanding of oncology pathways treatment regimens and supportive care.
- Demonstrable knowledge of clinical governance patient safety and medicines management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to support patients in emotionally challenging situations.
