The school is seeking a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or experienced Deputy DSL ready to step up.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the schools Designated Safeguarding Lead
Lead safeguarding procedures in line with KCSIE and statutory guidance
Manage referrals to social care CAMHS police and external agencies
Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings (CP CIN TAC MASH)
Maintain accurate safeguarding records using CPOMS/MyConcern
Train staff on safeguarding updates and policy changes
Oversee early help assessments and intervention plans
Work closely with pastoral SEN behaviour and attendance teams
Ensure robust whole-school safeguarding culture and compliance
Provide clear guidance and emotional resilience when supporting students
This is a pivotal leadership role requiring exceptional judgement and professionalism.
Experience as DSL or Deputy DSL in a school
Advanced safeguarding training (Level 3 minimum)
Excellent understanding of KCSIE statutory processes & multi-agency work
Strong record-keeping and decision-making skills
Ability to lead staff training and oversee whole-school systems
Calm resilient confidential and compassionate approach
