The school is seeking a committed patient and proactive Pastoral Support Officer to join their experienced pastoral team.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing daily support for students experiencing behavioural emotional social or academic challenges
Working closely with Heads of Year on behaviour interventions pastoral plans and restorative conversations
Meeting parents/carers to discuss concerns and develop support strategies
Monitoring attendance punctuality behaviour logs and welfare concerns
Delivering small-group or 1:1 pastoral interventions (e.g. self-esteem resilience behaviour support)
Recording actions interventions and safeguarding concerns accurately using school systems
Supporting reintegration meetings after exclusions or prolonged absence
Liaising with the safeguarding team SENCO counsellors and external support agencies
Supporting the supervision of unstructured times such as break and lunch
Contributing to pastoral briefings year team meetings and early help processes
This role requires a calm caring and professional individual who can build positive relationships with young people.
Experience in youth work pastoral care behaviour support or safeguarding
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to handle sensitive issues with professionalism and confidentiality
Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Ability to stay calm consistent and fair when supporting challenging situations
Strong organisational skills and accurate record-keeping
A commitment to inclusion wellbeing and supporting students wider development
