The opportunity

The primary role of a Tax Senior in COE is to support EYs clients in reviewing analysing and updating client tax information in clients system of records review any changes from time to time provide necessary support to related teams like tax reporting with-holding etc.

Tax Seniors are required to ensure highest quality of tax deliverables supervise develop and mentor staff. They are also required to help managers strengthen relationships with the client.

Your key responsibilities

In addition to specific competencies required for your role you will also focus on developing the following in relation to firm-wide competencies:
Review and analysis of indirect tax returns including VAT GST and Withholding Tax etc.
Handling tax documentation remediation projects (All types of forms W-8s and W-9s review) for both chapter 3 and chapter 4 reporting perspectives.
Should have knowledge on filing forms 1042-S and 1099
Should be ready to work on various countries tax practices
Identifying opportunities for process improvement
Identify the issues on an engagement try to resolve and bring it to the attention of the Assistant Managers or Managers.
Encouraging others to ask critical questions and share their ideas and concerns openly
Provide balanced and constructive feedback with specific behavioural examples to the team members
Developing strengths and opportunities collaboratively with team members by encouraging people to take action following feedback
Contributing to a positive team environment by demonstrating consistent commitment and optimism towards work challenges
Maintaining focus of team members on work products; holding others accountable for timely completion of high-quality work
Focusing team members on key quality drivers for work assignments
Building positive relationships with internal professionals and client personnel by demonstrating integrity and genuineness.

Skills and attributes for success

Develop mentor and supervise Analysts and Advanced Analysts.
Assist the Manager in engagement management
Communicate directly with the engagement teams in other offices
Proactively recognize issues and recommend solutions
Demonstrate professionalism and poise in demeanor attitude communication behavior and interaction with others
Proactively seek opportunities to diversify client load and exposure to different teams.
Foster collaboration and constructive communication within the team
Demonstrate basic presentation and public speaking skills while actively participating in meetings
Communicate in face-to-face situations by phone and via email and determine the appropriate mechanism for communicating given the situation
Communicate your progress and the project status to supervisors worldwide
Take ownership of your schedule and proactively seek work when necessary to meet your annual chargeability goal
Adhere to practice protocol and other internal processes consistently

Ideally youll also have

Communicate effectively being able to adapt communications to target audiences and interacting effectively in person by phone and in writing
Good analytical numeric and people management skills
Good knowledge of MS Office applications like word excel and PowerPoint
Ability to make present and drive project plans business cases etc.

What we look for

Education:

The ideal candidate will have a BCOM/MBA/ Other Finance Masters

Experience:

3 to 5 years relevant work experience in Tax operations or related discipline

Bank/Financial Institutions Knowledge: Products services IRS regulations Tax Operations

Experience on accounts and Indirect tax knowledge will be an added advantage

Additional Skills requirements:

Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word Advance Excel PowerPoint and Projects.
Quick learner with excellent communication skills team orientation and ability to work with counterparts in different areas of organization
Good knowledge on posting journal entries and accounting concepts
Solution oriented with strong problem-solving skills
Strong client service focus; responsive to request and capable of maintaining a sense of urgency in resolving issues
Able to demonstrate the ability to deliver quality analysis with tight deadlines and take full ownership of your work while learning diligently on the job.
