JOB DESCRIPTION

Cloverdale Catholic School is seeking a faith-filled practicing Catholic educator to join our dedicated staff as a Grade 6 classroom teacher. This individual must be passionate about Catholic education committed to academic excellence and eager to contribute to the spiritual and co-curricular life of the school community.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS

The successful candidate will:

Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the BC Grade 6 Curriculum
Plan and deliver engaging differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
Exhibit strong classroom management skills that foster a safe structured and positive learning environment
Use assessment practices that inform instruction and support student growth
Collaborate effectively as part of a professional learning team
Communicate clearly and professionally with students staff and parents
Participate actively in the faith life of the school including liturgies prayer and sacramental preparation support
Contribute to the broader school community through extracurricular involvement (athletics clubs leadership etc.)

FAITH REQUIREMENT

Applicants must:

Be a practicing Catholic committed to Catholic education
Demonstrate a strong understanding of and commitment to the mission of Catholic schools

REQUIRED CREDENTIALS

Valid BC Teaching Certificate
CISVA Teacher Application approval
Relevant experience teaching intermediate students preferred

On an on-going basis we accept teacher applications for grade levels K to 12 for our Catholic schools throughout the Greater Vancouver Area and Powell River in beautiful British Columbia. All Catholics non-Catholics new education grads and experienced teachers from across Canada are strongly encouraged to apply. Our major hiring season is in April for the following school year but we recommend that you apply now as we receive an influx of applications.
