    JOB SUMMARY
    Under the general direction of the Superintendent and the Assistant Superintendent this is the primary administrator of the school.

    • Manages human and fiscal resources to maximize student learning while maintaining compliance with all relevant laws policies directives and collective bargaining agreements

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Holds appropriate Maryland State Department of Education Licensure.
    • Must have at least three (3) years of successful schoolleadership and management experience as a principal assistant principal administrator and/or supervisor.
    • Instructional leadership experiences that demonstrate skills and knowledge of how to effectively develop and implement curriculum; the effective use of technology in the classroom; how to evaluate motivate and develop staff; and how to provide students with an effective learning environment.
    • Must have considerable leadership experiences that demonstrate knowledge of how to effectively integrate the skills and processes required by the Maryland College and Career Ready Standards (MDCCRS) and the Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP).
    • Must have considerable leadership experiences in analyzing assessment data to determine areas of student need and a track record of aligning instructional resources and support to improve academic achievement for all students.
    • Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students school staff parents community and business representatives and central office staff.
    • The demonstrated ability to lead the management of human and fiscal resources within district mission and values.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Ensures that every student makes academic progress achieves established yearly goals and provides a safe and nurturing school environment.
    • Actively engages parents and the community in the life of the school.
    • Provides educational and instructional leadership in a cooperative and collaborative manner which interprets initiates and implements the vision mission goals and objectives of the Queen Annes County Public Schools.
    • Supervises and motivates all personnel assigned to the school and provides ongoing feedback to improve human performance.
    • Establishes with the School Improvement Team (SIT) a School Improvement Plan with specific measurable outcomes.
    • Ensures that the school community understands and supports the School Improvement Plan.
    • Establishesan appropriate staffing pattern for the school.
    • Conducts meetings of staff as necessary for the proper functioning of the school.
    • Performs administrative duties including budget development and management State and Division reporting personnel selection training evaluation development and maintenance of efficient business procedures.
    • Supervises the preparation of reports records lists student and staff handbooks and all other documentation appropriate to the schools administration.
    • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with local community and business groups to foster understanding and solicit support for overall school objectives and programs.
    • Assumes leadership in the management of the schools extracurricular activities; attends such activities and ensures the maintenance of a safe and secure environment.
    • Performs other duties as assigned
