Janitor
Must be detail-oriented flexible and willing to take on non-routine cleaning and special projects as the need arises. Will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing offices meeting rooms bathrooms kitchen and dining room and public areas. Other duties may be assigned.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clean building floors by sweeping mopping scrubbing or vacuuming them.
- Gather and empty trash.
- Service cleaning and supply restrooms.
- Clean dust and polish furniture and fixtures.
- Clean windows glass partitions and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners sponges and squeegees.
- Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
- Drive vehicles that are required to perform or travel to cleaning work including vans industrial trucks or industrial vacuum cleaners.
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
- Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
- Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body able to reach overhead able to work in various positions including but not limited to stooping standing bending over sitting kneeling squatting; use hands to handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; work at heights; balance for extended periods of time.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required for this Position:
Education no minimum education requirements.
Experience Janitorial experience preferred.
Must pass pre-employment physical drug screen and background check as condition of employment.
