Austin Industrial is currently seeking a Sr. Welder to join our staff located at Artesia New Mexico. They must be able to perform high-quality welds on carbon steel low alloy and stainless steel. Other duties may be assigned.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate welding equipment including plasma and air arc cutting machines
- Lay out and fabricate piping systems
- Maintain a safe and efficient work environment
- Collaborate with team members to meet project goals
- Weld pipe fixed at a 45-degree angle working in all positions: flat horizontal vertical and overhead.
- Other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this Job the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop kneel crouch or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and may frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Qualifications:
- Experience 5 years of Journeyman level experience
- Welders Must pass mechanical testing as part of the qualification process
- Must pass TIG 6G weld test
- Ability to handle complex multi-position welds.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding fast paced work environment.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights over 100 feet
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must Pass Tig 6G Weld Test
- Valid Drivers License
- Must pass background comprehensive physical including a drug screen and safety training
- Meet physical demands as listed above
- Ability to work overtime weekends and holidays as needed by the assigned location
- Ability to operate power tools and heavy equipment
