Job Summary

Job Summary:The EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) Coordinatorwill be responsible for ensuring workplace safety and environmental compliance by developing/implementing programs conducting training/audits investigating incidents and maintaining records to meet federal state internal and 3rd party standards preventing injuries and environmental harm and fostering a strong safety culture. The EHS Coordinator will act as a liaison between management employees and regulators to mitigate risks and promote best practices in health safety and environmental Functions of the Job: Program Management:Develop implement and maintain EHS policies procedures and programs (e.g. Lockout/Tagout Hazard Communication Emergency Response)Lead employee safety engagement team and meetingsCompliance & Auditing:Conduct regular site inspections audits and risk assessmentsIdentify hazards ensure adherence to federal state and local regulationsTraining & Education:Deliver safety orientations toolbox talks and specialized training on PPE safe work practices and emergency proceduresIncident Management:Investigate accidents injuries and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actionsRecord Keeping:Maintain accurate documentation for incidents training safety audits SDS (Safety Data Sheets) and environmental permitsCollaboration:Work with operations HR and management to promote a strong safety culture and address concernsEnvironmental Stewardship:Oversee hazardous material handling waste disposal and sustainability effortsSupervisory Responsibilities: Knowledge & SkillsCertifications (CSP CIH) or relevant degrees (EHS Safety Industrial Hygiene) are often preferredKnowledge of OSHA EPA and other relevant regulations background in food manufacturing preferredStrong analytical organizational and communication skillsAbility to conduct training and present information effectivelyExperience in incident investigation and root cause analysisFeatured BenefitsMedical insuranceDental insuranceVision insurancePaid Family leavePaid maternity leave401(k) with MatchVoluntary Life Accident Critical Illness and Hospital indemnityPaid HolidaysTuition assistanceShort-term and Long-term Disability insuranceAdditional Considerations:This position will be at the SunOpta Plant in Omak : This role will be shift work.
