They have an opportunity for an experienced Trade Assistant / Machine Technicianto join their team located in Bowen!
Key focus for these roles is the combination of a good mechanical skillswithout formal trade qualifications required .
Would suit anyonewith strong mechanical aptitude and ability to service their own motor vehicle or capable of home renovations or maintenance etc.
This is an operational position which involves working as part of the packing team ensuring the lines are set up and operate well throughoutthe day.

Hrs are aligned with the Pack team so typically 4:30 am start in season 6:00 am start out of season.April to November being the packing In Season
New role that was developed in South East QLD and want to roll it out into North QLD
Role:
Operate packhouse machinery and equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with standard operating procedures
Monitor machine performance and identify operational issues requiring attention
Conduct basic machine adjustments and changeovers as required
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas and equipment
Complete operational checklists and production records accurately
Assist qualified tradespeople with maintenance repair and installation activities
Prepare work areas gather tools materials and equipment for maintenance tasks
Perform routine maintenance tasks under supervision including lubrication cleaning and minor adjustments
Assist with the removal and installation of plant components and assemblies
Support breakdown response activities to minimise equipment downtime
Conduct routine inspections and scheduled preventative maintenance tasks
Report equipment faults safety hazards and maintenance requirements promptly
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
Assist with inventory management of spare parts consumables and maintenance supplies
Requirements:
For C13 Classification (Level II - Engineering/Manufacturing Employee):
Completion of up to three months structured training in a manufacturing or production environment or equivalent on-the-job experience
Demonstrated ability to perform routine production and maintenance tasks under supervision
Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
Ability to follow instructions and work safely
For C12 Classification (Level III - Engineering/Manufacturing Employee):
Completion of Engineering Production Certificate I or Certificate II in Engineering (or equivalent qualification) enabling work within this levels scope
Demonstrated skills and competence above C13 level in manufacturing/production operations
Ability to take responsibility for the quality of own work subject to routine supervision
Capacity to work independently or in a team environment under routine supervision
Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion within level of skills and training
Willingness and ability to assist in providing on-the-job training to others
For All Classifications:
Strong commitment to workplace health safety and food safety practices
Physical fitness and ability to work in a physically demanding environment
Ability to work unsupervised and complete tasks within allocated timeframes
Flexibility to work across a sliding shift pattern including early day and late shifts over a 6-day roster
Effective communication skills and ability to work cooperatively in a team
Basic literacy and numeracy skills for completing documentation
Current Australian work rights (Australian citizen permanent resident or valid work visa)
Previous experience in a food processing or packhouse facility
Experience operating industrial machinery or production equipment
Forklift licence (LF) or willingness to obtain
Basic hand tool competency
Knowledge of or exposure to refrigeration systems
Completion of Working at Heights training
Current First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain
Drivers licence
