Job Summary

Retail Banking Analytics (RBA) in ING Analytics is looking for a Product Manager focusing on mortgages analytics. As a Product Manager you will originate and build data-driven algorithmic products for the specified area. This is an entrepreneurial and global role in an innovative international team.

The team

RBA specialises in delivering Analytics and AI products and solutions across the ING retail business. We work together with all retail business units to deliver on the ING retail banking strategy. Projects span across personalisation and CI mortgages consumer finance pricing and business this specific role the product manager will focus on analytics solutions for mortgages.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Lead assigned analytics product development in prioritised area(s) in RBA
  • Potential to extend product area when further grow.
  • Product discovery: identify (data) problems prioritize idea backlog and design and execute experiments to determine what problems need solving
  • Work with a squad of Data Scientists and Engineers to discover the potential of a product idea the user problem and validate and prototype
  • Manage data-driven products so that they generate significant value for ING and its customers
  • Create value propositions vision and product strategy
  • Good understanding of innovation and product management methodologies such as Lean Agile and Design Thinking
  • Strong ability to develop structured product concepts from abstract ideas and lead prototyping
  • Manage backlog of the development engage with business stakeholders to ensure alignment and prepare steerco discussions on critical topics.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership internally and externally
  • Understanding and enthusiasm for technology advanced analytics and data science methods

  • Proven experience leading and delivering machine learning use cases and products with clear business impact is required.
  • Proven experience in a consulting role (internal or external) with project management experience is required.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills including engagement with senior leadership in a complex environment are required.
  • Demonstrated people management experience leading technical teams (e.g. data scientists engineers) in an international multilocation environment is required.
  • Experience working within ING Analytics is preferred; more than one year of experience is an advantage.
  • Experience with the analytics project blueprinting phase is required; experience translating blueprints into execution is a plus.
  • Experience and proven domain knowledge in mortgages consumer lending business lending and/or personalisation is a plus preferably in the context of analytics use cases.
  • 810 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Masters degree in a scientific or quantitative field or equivalent experience.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.

What could your day look like

Any given day will be different but one of them might look like this: Start off the day with the daily standup with your product squad. Afterwards you work with them planning and defining the upcoming analysis or experiment. Next you work with squad members on a few analysis which will be important input for you to prioritise the backlog for upcoming sprint.

In the afternoon you run/support a workshop with a team that has been thinking about an AI-related idea and help them work it out into a concrete AI challenge. This could be a project for our upcoming period.

This evening you are presenting at an AI Meetup that attracts the best AI minds in the city or you call it a day and spend some quality private time to keep a healthy balance between focus rest and other things.
