Job Description Summary:
The Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics Division of Developmental and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Kansas Medical Center will provide care for ambulatory patients at our Pediatric clinics across KUMC campuses as well as provide care for hospitalized patients across KUMC campuses. The Psychologist will be responsible for assessment diagnosis and treatment of young children with developmental disabilities including autism spectrum disorder and other childhood mental health behavioral and psychological disorders. The role includes delivering evidence-based patient care in ambulatory and inpatient settings to support patient health and addition the Clinical Assistant Professor will play an active role in the education and training of residents medical students and fellows as well as participate in departmental and divisional academic quality improvement and scholarly activities.

Job Duties Outlined:
- Provide expert patient-centered care for clinical and hospitalized patients.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations as well as behavior therapy for individuals with autism developmental disabilities and/or childhood mental health disorders. Teaching within the clinical setting for graduate level learners from a variety of disciplines including medical students and pediatric residents.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team diagnostic evaluations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support ongoing clinical educational and quality improvement initiatives.
- Educate and mentor residents fellows and medical students in general pediatric areas and related areas.
- Participate in departmental divisional and institutional meetings seminars and committees.
- Maintain required certifications and participate in ongoing professional development.
- Engage in scholarly activities research and quality improvement initiatives aligned with the Departments mission.

Required Qualifications:
Education: PhD or equivalent.
- This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have the foundational knowledge and skill set required to perform the duties of the position. The level of degree is based on accreditation requirements institutional standards of academic and professional excellence alignment with peer institution benchmarks and contributes to the credibility and effectiveness of the role within the university community.
Certifications/Licenses: Licensed Psychologist (LP) in the state of Kansas with the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB).
Work Experience:
- Experience in conducting diagnostic evaluations as well as behavior therapy for individuals with autism developmental disabilities and/or childhood mental health disorders.
- Experience participating in interdisciplinary team diagnostic evaluations.
- Experience collaborating with families of children with disabilities.
- ADOS training as demonstrated by application materials
