Mallesons Canberra office is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Associate to work closely alongside Annabel Griffin and Rachael Lewis in our innovative corporate and commercial team that forms part of our Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) group.
Mallesons Canberra is not your average Canberra law firm. We form an important part of the national firm playing a leadership role in the national government strategy and managing substantial matters at intersect of government and private sector. Our lawyers get exposure to significant matters for both Commonwealth clients and major corporates including M&A work; this mix of government and major corporate work is unique in the Canberra market. We also have strong ties to the local community particularly in supporting the ACT innovation ecosystem.
There is strong leadership from Partners across the M&A group who work together to ensure youre exposed to challenging corporate and commercial advisory work for a broad range of clients. As a Senior Associate you will work on major projects (including procurements and technology projects) and corporate transactions (including government asset sales IP commercialisation outsourcings and joint ventures). You will have the ability to drive forward matters with minimal supervision as well as support and mentor lawyers more junior than yourself. You will have access to other legal experts across the firm and work collaboratively with lawyers across different locations and practice areas deepening your own legal expertise.
You will have
Exceptional analytical and communication skills.
Proven expertise in drafting high-quality legal documents.
Outstanding legal analysis capabilities with a knack for simplifying complex legal concepts.
Strong dedication to client service fostering relationships that lead to timely relevant and commercially astute advice.
A genuine passion for commercial law.
Experience in the public sector gained through working closely with government clients or working within government.
Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively mentor junior colleagues and contribute to the teams overall success.
Adaptability to the evolving legal and commercial landscape thriving in an innovative environment that embraces change.
