The BNSF Railway Finance Department provides innovative strategic solutions and world-class financial services to support BNSFs overall performance. The department is committed to maintaining integrity and recognizing the companys successes ensuring that BNSF remains a leader in the railway industry. Within the Finance Department several specialized departments contribute to its overall mission: Controller Revenue Management Strategic Sourcing Tax Treasury and Strategic Studies. Each department is vital in managing BNSFs financial health and strategic financial planning. These departments work collaboratively to secure BNSFs economic stability and support its growth and innovation within the railway industry.

This is a full-time positionlocated in Fort Worth TX. For certain positions including this one employees can work one day per week remotely. Our leaders also foster a culture where work life balance which requires flexibility for when life happens is important and respected.

Travel is minimal less than 10%.

Salary range:

1 years of experience: $68800-$87900

2 years of experience: $77600-$100000

These ranges reflect what BNSF Railway reasonably expects to pay for this position based on the roles level scope and responsibilities. Final compensation and position level will be determined by factors such as job-related skills experience and relevant education or addition to base pay and bonus eligibility BNSF offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Key responsibilities may include:

Perform research and analysis of contracts payables and receivable billing with other railroads governmental agencies and other entities. Billing types include construction train movement and other ancillary charges.

Responsible forconducting audits and related assignments of receivable and payable projects to ensure billed costs are complete accurate supportable and within contractual terms.

Identify and quantifyroot causes and recommend solutions to improve controls and current Billable Projects (Revenue Management) procedures and systems.

Presentaudit findings (billing issues impacts root causes solutions) to both Finance & Operations management.

Identify and/or developbest practices for contract & invoice audits/reviews.

Proactive and demonstrate ability to identify potential gaps and opportunities for process improvements.

Strong attention to detail problem-solving skills and deliverresults.

Ability to conduct comprehensive reviews of various types of agreements and analyze contract terms against actual performance and application.

Daily work is conducted in an indoor office environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Able to work now and in the future without BNSFs assistance (whether monetary through sponsorship or otherwise) in obtaining maintaining or extending employment authorization (including H-1B STEM OPT/CPT or TN nonimmigrant status).

  • Bachelors degree

  • Minimum of 1-year professional experience

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with above average knowledge of Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree Accounting Finance or Business/Operations related field of study

  • Working knowledge of Disbursements Accounts Payable Revenue and/or Accounts Receivable processes

  • Experience with SQL SAP Tableau Alteryx Power BI or other analytical tools and platforms
  • Previous audit forensic accounting or financial analysis experience
