Director of Facilities Services - Assisted Living Memory Care Rochester NY

Full Time - Exempt

Salary Range: $63000 - $90000Annually

RPH is seeking a Director of Facilities Services that is responsible of the Maintenance Housekeeping and Laundry Service departments at the Homestead Cottage Grove and Creekstone communities including routine service and preventative maintenance seasonal changes and repairs on building equipment electrical and plumbing repairs and team scheduling and supervision. Rochester Presbyterian Home (RPH) is leading the way in Memory Care in Monroe County. RPHs Memory Care Residences in Rochester Fairport and N. Chili offer a different (better!) way of living for people with memory impairment. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance duties such as mechanical electrical plumbing HVAC and appliance repairs.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment lighting water conditioning systems and other equipment as scheduled.
  • Perform courtesy service for new residents (i.e. hanging pictures setting up and connecting electronic equipment installing additional lighting and other fixtures configuring TV units and ensuring proper functionality etc.)
  • Maintain grounds mowing snow removal landscaping
  • Perform monthly Quality assurance audits
  • Manage and maintain records for all PM checklists.
  • Participate in a shared rotation for on-call responsibilities including holidays and weekends.
  • Ensure removal of trash/Recyclable form the trash rooms to the pick-up areas on a daily basis
  • Escort and assist contractors with periodic inspections and maintenance
  • Assemble and dissemble furniture and other equipment for scheduled activities and programs
  • Order parts and materials inventory control
  • Maintain all tools equipment vehicles and supplies in proper condition.
  • Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
  • Perform specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by VP of Facilities Support Services.

Personnel Management

  • Deliver regular feedback conduct formal performance evaluations and ensure accountability for achieving assigned goals and outcomes.
  • Build positive relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and work well in varied team environments
  • Promote and model a culture of warmth respect and professionalism across all communities and departments.

Qualifications

  • Experience:
    1. High School Diploma or equivalent certificate of completion; specialized training in HVAC engineering or a related field is preferred.
    2. Good skills with hand tools and power tools.
  • Education/Certifications:
    1. Five years experience in construction/building trades facility maintenance refinishing and remodeling with 2years in a supervisory role. Experience with HVAC plumbing electrical and security systems is critical.
    2. HVAC certified and OSHA certification preferred.
    3. Certifications like Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) are beneficial.
  • Licensure:
    1. Valid NYS drivers license with a clean driving record required. Ability to pass New York State Department of Health Criminal History Background Check.
  • Technical Skills:
    1. Proficiency with maintenance management software Microsoft Office Suite and basic financial management for budgeting.
  • Regulatory Knowledge:
    1. Deep understanding of NYS Department of Health (DOH) regulations fire codes and OSHA safety standards for long-term care.
  • Soft Skills:
    1. Strong leadership communication and problem-solving abilities to manage maintenance housekeeping and laundry staff and communicate with Leadership and other service departments
    2. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal service.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that would need to be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job in an office environment. While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; run climb stairs sit; use hands to finger handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds pushing as much as 125 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus. May be exposed to infectious diseases. May be exposed to physical aggression.
