Job Summary

The Position

The City of Yuba City is currently recruiting forEngineering Interns!
This recruitment will close on March 30 2026 at 5PM (PST).

This is a great opportunity for an Engineering student looking for paid on-the-job experience. This is a part-time/temporary position that does not include benefits.

The Position:
Under general supervision Engineering Interns provide assistance with field and office civil engineering work in the planning professional design and construction of City facilities and infrastructure including sewer water storm drains street improvements and traffic signals.Interns have the opportunity to contribute to active projects and gain real world experience in a professional and friendly work environment.

The Work Hours:

Interns can work up to 24 hours per workweek during the academic year and up to 40 hours per workweek during breaks; (Winter Spring and Summer). Hours can be scheduled to meet needs of the Department and intern. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

The ideal candidate must have a willingness to learn and work well in a team environment the ability to follow instructs and complete tasks independently. This position also requires the ability to communicate and manage time effectively while balancing a variety of tasks and priorities.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent. Must be enrolled in at least six semester units or nine quarter units at an accredited college or university with coursework required towards a civil or mechanical engineering major.

Experience:

Experience in engineering or related field is preferred.

License/Certification:

Valid California Class C drivers license.
