Job Summary

GXM is seeking a Human Systems Integration (HSI) Engineer to support Human Systems Integration engineering and systems engineering functions in support of Naval and Department of War programs. The selected candidate will support the integration of human systems considerations across all stages of research design development test and operations to help ensure human performance usability and mission effectiveness are incorporated into system solutions.

The candidate will support technical and programmatic activities across the system life cycle including analysis requirements development design activities integration test and assessment while working under the guidance of senior HSI and systems engineering staff. Responsibilities include contributing to HSI analyses and trade studies supporting concept development and performance assessment tools participating in working groups and assessments and assisting with evaluation of emerging technologies relevant to Human Systems Integration. This position will be based out of Fredericksburg VA with occasional travel to Dahlgren VA.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Integrate human systems considerations across all stages of research design and system development
Apply systems engineering and human-centered design principles to ensure usability human performance and mission effectiveness
Provide technical and programmatic support across the full system life cycle from concept development through operations
Design develop and analyze HSI and operational requirements
Support concept development and creation of performance assessment tools
Conduct research trade studies and participate in formal design reviews
Support test and evaluation laboratory and field activities
Participate in working groups advisory panels and mockup assessments
Provide organizational and technical management support
Investigate and assess emerging technologies relevant to HSI
Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

Must be a U.S. Citizen
Relevant educational experience in at least two (2) Human Systems Integration focus areas including but not limited to:

Comparative multi-domain HSI engineering analysis impact assessments and trade-off studies of complex systems
HSI design installation integration and test support in laboratory or operational environments
Design documentation and specification development
HSI test planning test procedures development test execution analysis and reporting
HSI-related engineering requirements performance analysis and risk analysis
Application of engineering principles to analyze design develop implement test or evaluate systems
Systems integration configuration management quality assurance testing acquisition training or resource management
Conducting task analyses such as Mission Task Analysis Top-Down Functional Analysis or Critical Task Analysis
Understanding Naval operations from unit level through operational staff and headquarters planning

Desired Qualifications

Experience supporting Naval programs laboratories or operational units
