Job Summary
A Day in the Life
Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same but a typical day will include the following responsibilities*
- Ensure that accounting procedures comply with local statutory requirements
- Perform month-end closing procedures
- Responsible for keeping the books correct and updated according to H&M Group rules and local regulations
- Intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Routines for fixed asset bookings and depreciation calculations
- Prepare statutory reporting and statistics
- Research and correct any out-of-balance situations between the GL and sub-ledger
- Analyze amortize and reconcile prepaid accounts
- Prepare assigned journal entries
- Prepare assigned general ledger reconciliations
- Review general ledger reconciliations prepared by others
- Prepare monthly commissions
- Support and assist audits (both internal and external)
- Maintain contact with other accounting departments in the HUB and Shared Service Center
- Manual payments and correct reconciliation in the Banks from Payroll and other areas.
- Check request administration
- Reconciliation of freight transport and customs/duties
Qualifications :
Who You Are:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or Business Administration
- CPA preferred not required
- 5 years experience in Accounting or Finance preferably in retail business or similar
- English level: Intermediate/Advanced (Fluent)
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages preferable in Cadency Blackline and SAP
- Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close process
- Proficiency in advanced accounting principes and techniques
- Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and Pivot Tables
- Strong attention to detail
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to analyze process flows and data outputs
- Ability to adapt the way of communication to ensure clarity engagement and open dialogue
- Understanding global market trends and their impact on financial operations
