Description

Were currently recruiting a Service Charge Leasehold Accountant to join our team! This is a key role within the team responsible for preparing and managing the annual service charge budgets and actuals for the leasehold schemes. Youll provide financial analysis and reporting to support decision making within the leasehold team making a positive impact to our customers.

Duties include:

  • Prepare and manage annual service charge budgets and actuals for leasehold schemes
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making within the leasehold team.
  • Reconcile service charge accounts and ensure timely issuance of year-end statements to leaseholders.
  • Monitor income and expenditure across leasehold accounts identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Respond to leaseholder queries regarding service charges and financial matters in a professional and timely manner.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to ensure alignment of financial and operational data.
  • Support the development and implementation of financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Liaise with auditors to support the preparation of service charge accounts and ensure compliance with relevant legislation (e.g. Landlord and Tenant Act 1985).
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulations.


Requirements
  • Part or fully qualified accountant (e.g. AAT ACCA CIMA or working towards).
  • Proven and recent experience in leasehold or property accounting ideally within housing or property management.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to confidently explain complex information clearly logically and concisely.
  • Familiarity with housing management systems & finance systems (e.g. MRI Open Housing Open Accounts) and reporting requirements.
  • Up-to-date understanding of the social housing sector and Regulator of Social Housing Rent Standard.
  • Right to Work in the UK - visa sponsorship is not available.
