Job Summary
Location: Calgary Head Office AB.
Employment Type: Limited Term Anticipated duration 12 months (with the possibility of extension).
Salary Range: SP3 Level 5 $92320 - $115400 per year. The final compensation for this position will be determined based on individual factors including education qualifications experience and internal equity.
Web Specialist - Hybrid
The Opportunity
Join our Integrated Communications team with the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) as our next Web Specialist. Youll be responsible for managing the AERs external digital channels including our website social media platforms and connected applications. Youll work closely with our Communications and Information Technology experts on day-to-day work and enhancement projects to keep our digital communications channels modern functional reliable user-friendly visually appealing consistent and up to date.
This role is an ideal mix of strategic planning complex problem solving and tactical execution on a collaborative team that values work-life balance and a fun supportive culture.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Develop maintain and enhance the AERs website and digital platforms providing expert guidance on improving functionality accessibility and responsiveness.
Manage day-to-day website operations including content updates publishing and analytics reports troubleshooting technical issues.
Develop and implement web content strategies that align with organizational priorities and the AERs brand optimizing for search and generative AI.
Plan create and publish engaging social media content across platforms and monitor comments inquiries and performance.
Collaborate with internal teams to integrate web and social media initiatives into broader communication plans.
Stay current with emerging trends in web development social media and digital communications to continuously improve the AERs online presence.
What were looking for in you:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Digital Communications Information and Communications Technologies or equivalent with a combined 7 years of related work experience.
Expertise in website content management systems and programming languages as well as Adobe Creative Cloud and social media platforms.
Ability to effectively manage multiple initiatives concurrently and respond and adapt to changing priorities and timelines.
Proficient in web analytics tools and reporting online marketing via social media search engine optimization and generative engine optimization.
Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication teamwork organization project management and problem-solving skills.
Member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) or the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) is considered an asset.
