BGIS is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our team. If you have a strong understanding of both Australian and New Zealand payroll processes great attention to detail and a passion for supporting people behind the scenes this could be the ideal role for you.
About the Role
As a Payroll Officer at BGIS you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our staff. You will be responsible for maintaining payroll records managing employee payments handling payroll queries and supporting internal and external reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process weekly or monthly payrolls for assigned employee groups
- Ensure all timesheets payroll changes and records are submitted before payroll deadlines
- Maintain employee pay leave and personnel records
- Process casual staff and termination payments
- Assist in preparing payroll-related management reports
- Maintain electronic and physical filing systems
- Respond to payroll-related queries from employees
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
What We Are Looking For
Essential
- Three to five years of payroll experience in Australia and New Zealand
- Proficiency in iChris or similar payroll systems
- Experience with Time and Attendance systems preferably Deputy Enterprise
- Understanding of award interpretation and payroll legislation
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Office skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance or Accounting
